Some people just know when they\u2019re ready, while others take time to figure it out. If you\u2019re unsure, ask yourself these five important questions: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

  1. Do I really want this?<\/strong> 
    Am I excited about it, or do I feel pressured? You should never have sex just because someone else wants you to or because you feel like you \u201cshould.\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Do I trust my partner?<\/strong> 
      Sex is about vulnerability. Do you feel comfortable with this person? Can you talk openly about your feelings, boundaries, and protection? <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        \n
      1. Is this my choice?<\/strong> 
        If your partner is pushing you or making you feel guilty for saying \u201cno,\u201d that\u2019s a red flag. Sex should always be a mutual decision, free from pressure or expectations. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          \n
        1. Do I understand how to protect myself?<\/strong>\u00a0
          Before having sex, it\u2019s important to know how to prevent STIs <\/a>and unplanned pregnancy<\/a>. Learn about condoms <\/a>and contraception <\/a>before having sex.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Does my faith or culture influence my decision?<\/strong> 
            For some people, personal values, religious beliefs, or family expectations play a role in their decision to wait. And that’s okay, it\u2019s always your choice,  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
