Any symptoms you have will appear 1 week after you&#8217;ve had sex.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms you could have on your penis, vagina or anus:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blisters or sores filled with fluid. If they&#8217;re in your vagina or anus, you might not notice them\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Pain<\/li>\n<li>Itching<\/li>\n<li>Watery discharge<\/li>\n<li>A burning sensation<\/li>\n<li>Red marks on your skin<\/li>\n<li>Pain when you&#8217;re peeing or, if you&#8217;ve had anal sex, when you&#8217;re pooing\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Swollen lymph nodes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-1289_74b5c4-5c .kt-block-spacer{height:60px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-1289_74b5c4-5c .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-1289_74b5c4-5c\">\n<div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\">\n<hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Herpes outbreak<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All these symptoms are called a herpes outbreak. During the first outbreak, the symptoms are the most severe. You may also have a fever, headache and aching muscles. After that, outbreaks will be milder. Some people only have 1 outbreak. The symptoms go away by themselves, but may come back:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you&#8217;re tired and stressed<\/li>\n<li>If you have the flu or your period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blisters form scabs after 1 to 4 weeks and then disappear. But the virus stays in your body. The blisters can come back again.<\/p>\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-1289_293c9c-2c .kt-block-spacer{height:60px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-1289_293c9c-2c .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-1289_293c9c-2c\">\n<div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\">\n<hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herpes is not harmful but can be painful or annoying. If it bothers you, then you can get treatment from your doctor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 2 types of treatment:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Antiviral pills that shorten the outbreak. These only work at the beginning of a herpes outbreak. You then have fewer symptoms<\/li>\n<li>A cream that relieves the pain and helps the blisters to form scabs\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The virus stays in your body. You may get symptoms again. And sometimes the symptoms don&#8217;t completely go away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you often have severe outbreaks of herpes, ask your doctor if you can get treatment that stops you getting symptoms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Herpes is an STI.
