Biological sex refers to physical characteristics that are usually classified as male, female, or intersex. Males typically have XY chromosomes, and females have XX chromosomes. Intersex people have natural differences in sex characteristics that don’t fit typical male or female categories. Biological sex exists on a spectrum, adding to human diversity.
