Sexting
Sexting is sending sexually explicit messages, photos, or videos. It can be fun and exciting when you’re in a trusting and respectful relationship. However, it’s important to approach sexting carefully, keeping both your emotional and physical boundaries in mind.

Remember
- Check in with your partner first: Make sure the other person is comfortable with receiving explicit photos or messages
- Respect privacy: Agree that photos and videos will remain private. Don’t share them with anyone else
- Know who you’re sexting: Always make sure you know the person well before sharing intimate photos or messages
- Respect yourself: Only send photos or messages when you feel comfortable. Never feel pressured to send anything you’re not okay with
If things go wrong
Sometimes, sexting can take a turn and lead to things being shared without your consent. If that happens, remember that it’s not your fault—what the other person is doing is wrong.
- You are not to blame. If someone shares your photos without your consent, talk to someone you trust—whether it’s a parent, teacher, or counselor.
- Get support: It’s important to reach out to organizations that can help you take action, like reporting it to the police or seeking advice from support services.
- Police

- 917: No emergency

Supporting others
If you come across explicit photos or videos of someone else, here’s how you can show support:
- Don’t share the images: Respect privacy by deleting any explicit photos or videos you receive
- Speak up: Let the person who sent it to you know that it’s not okay. If they’re the one being affected, offer them your support
- Support each other: If you know the person in the photo or video, offer emotional support, and encourage them to seek help if needed
